ABOUT
I’m Daniel Martin, a Swiss artist and graphic designer based in Biel/Bienne.
I studied graphic design for five years at the School of Art and Design in Biel, followed by over a decade as an Art Director in advertising agencies. Since 2016, I’ve been working independently in both design and fine art.
Under the project CHAOS2GOLD, I create large-scale artworks combining charcoal, raw texture, and accents of gold. My work lives in the space where graphic precision meets spontaneous, physical energy.
THE PROCESS
I stretch many of my canvases myself. Some of the frames are built by hand, too. This is where wood gets cut, canvases get stapled, charcoal meets the surface, and gold is applied. And sometimes, things get pretty chaotic.
My original artworks aren’t flawless factory-made products. Small traces of the creative process are part of their story.
Every piece is made by hand. Not on an assembly line.
